I boarded a commercial bus today and was on my way home and the next thing I heard was one sort of Nigerian hip hop song, with a mix of English and Yoruba and guess who I found out to be the artist? It was DaGrin.
Perhaps, you've never heard of DaGrin before or ever put him on your list of top Nigerian musicians or you just got to know about him in the news.
Well DaGrin is an upcoming Nigerian musician who sings with the same kind of flavour like 9ice and was a young entertainer who just got killed in a car accident. He has released a lot of songs to his credit some of which includes:
Mummy mi o si ni le
Daddy mi o si ni le
Egbon mi o si ni le
Emi ni kan mo wa nile
Wa gba kondo, kondo, kondo
Wa wo commando, mando, mando
Won le hu
Get Low
Idi nlaWell, as my story goes, I was in this vehicle and on the road home when suddenly, I realized that the song that was playing on the radio was from DaGrin and I reminded myself, "Was it not this artiste that died in a car crash and here we are listening to his song while in a car? While I don't have anything against Dagrin, I somehow thought it was not exactly cool to listen to it while driving, you know. Maybe at home, in a party or at his resting place, then it would be ok to listen to. I'm not fetish or doubtful or anything, but how do you really feel listening to a man's song while driving, especially if he died while doing the same thing?
