Got Mobile TV? Here comes MTN DSTV Mobile

Imagine being able to watch Mobile TV anywhere you are! You don't have to be at home with family watching tv on the set or at office or other place, but even while on the air, road, recreational spot, you can still watch tv. Moreso, this is no ordinary tv, but DSTV channels selected and brought to you by MTN.
MTN's DSTV Mobile comes now comes with the Nokia 5330 Mobile TV edition which has a DVB-H.
Initially, MTN's first introduction of te DSTV mobile was with the DVB-H compatible ZTE phone and it carried an extensible antennae but now MTN has launched it on a new platform which is more stylish and superb - The Nokia 5330 phone. The whole package comes with a price tag of N28,000 only and to get this all you need are:

- Visit an MTN customer center
- Pay the N28,000 single time fee
- Sign the agreement form (Keep a copy for your records)

The MTN DSTV Mobile package includes:
- A 128K SIM card
- 10 - 11 channels for free
- One year free DSTV mobile Tv service
- A Nokia 5330 mobile tv edition phone
- A headset or earpiece
- A small pin Nokia charger
- A phone manual and package with the IMEI number

Channels on the DSTV Mobile
The DSTV Mobile service from MTN comes with about 10 - 11 channels. I initially got 10 channels and later 11 but that last one required paid subscription. Here is a list of the channels:
1. NTA International - a TV service from Nigeria's state-owned TV broadcaster targetted at an international audience
2. SuperSport Blitz - a sports update and highlights' channel for Africa offering content from live sport to result updates
3. SuperSport 9
4. CNN International - news & current affairs from a world-class broadcaster
5. Magic World Africa - African general entertainment
6. Africa Magic - mostly movies, series and general entertainment from Nigeria
7. Channel O - featuring music videos from Africa and across the world
8. Cartoon Network - for kids and adult lovers of animation
9. Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) - broadcast Christian related programming. I'm loving this.
10. SuperSport 3N - Africa's premier football channel, broadcasting national and international football events. Good for the South African World cup

Some features on the Nokia 5330 Mobile TV edition
The Nokia 533p phone has got some nice features which includes:
- A 3.2 megapixel with up to 4 x digital zoom
- The headset works as a plug-in antennae
- 3.5G capability on the MTN network
- Bluetooth connectivity

So, in all, even without the DSTV mobile, the Nokia 5330 is a smart and reliable phone and I just had to get it because my phone needed replacing. The DSTV Mobile is a giant bonus and imagine having it for free for up to a year. MTN is doing great things in Naija.
