Given the present quagmire on the removal of subsidy on PMS, and the protests across the entire country, our leaders should lead by example! it is well known to all that they spend next to nothing of the huge amounts they get as remuneration as government officials. At least THEY DON'T BUY PMS WITH THEIR EARNINGS. If they must help the masses, let them All take a pay cut!! This would help reduce government spending, create more money to be added to that made available by the subsidy removal, and to quicken the fruition of the promises of the benefits of the subsidy removal. Above all it will be sound proof of the genuineness of their intention to help the masses! - eghaboh enike 05/01/12

Sir, APPEAL TO JAMB REGISTRAR, PROF OJERINDE TO TEMPER JUSTICE WITH MERCY On behalf of the Parent Forum of Nigeria, we hereby appeal to the substantive JAMB Registrar, Prof Dibu Ojerinde regarding the conduct of 2011/2012 UTME to release the outstanding 2011 UTME results and add back the deducted marks from candidates’ results in all UTME subjects in Yaba, Bariga, Ebute-Metta, Agege, Mushin, and Lagos Island of Lagos state to mention but few. It is on record that you, the Registrar, affirmed that UTME was largely free of Examination malpractices this year with introduction of biometric finger-print verification into system of UTME at centres, not excluding Lagos state (the centre of excellence). We can’t agree any better with you going by prima-facie evidence on ground that day and this is indeed commendable. This assertion of the Registrar, however, runs counter to existing situation where candidates are marked down by as much as 50% in I all UTME subjects in almost all the aforementioned Examination Towns. The abysmal results (mainly in the range of 150 and 190 marks) of top-flight students prompted some study centres to assess answer-marked question papers of the candidates using the solution of Teachers who major in the subjects. The outcome was quite revealing. For instance, one of these foremost students (who has cleared their SSSCE papers in A’s) got 43 questions right out of 50 questions in Mathematics but JAMB scored him 41% in the same Exam. In English, he had 88 questions correct but JAMB scored him 38%. The outcome is not particularly different in other subjects. The story is the same in all the centres in the aforesaid Examination centres. We strongly believe that even where JAMB is penalizing for guess work, that cannot account for such colossal variance. With this current situation, parents are beginning to have impression that JAMB seems to be assigning scores using whatever indices. It is only fair before man and God that these deducted scores be added back and the withheld results promptly released. Lastly, we want to advise JAMB to get done with all necessary screening before going to press to announce the release of result, even if this has to take some two weeks after the Exam. That way, it will depict thoroughness and JAMB, the Registrar, and the system will earn themselves almost as much credibility as that of Prof Atahiru Jega and his INEC. Thank you. - DAvid Akanbi 03/07/11

OGUN NYSC FRAUD I am a serving corps member in Abeokuta,Ogun State.I was one of the corps members who participated in the just concluded general elections.I served under Abeokuta North Local Government Area.During the general elections,I would go from my house where I stayed at a very far distant to the INEC Office at Akomoje in the same Local Government.I would sleep on the floor outside with my colleagues till the following morning of the execise even though it was never comfortable with us throughout the whole period. We all believed the exercise was a national assignment for us despite the fact that a meagre amount of money was attached to it. To our amazement,NYSC collected the money from INEC under the disguise that we would be paid for the money we had worked for.The money has not being paid till now. Those who received alert from their banks were not credited according to their efforts.NYSC said we should come and clarify our names with them so as to know the number of times we participated in the elections. So many of us who participated in all the four elections discovered that our names reflected once, twice or not all.I FELT LIKE CRYING FOR THIS DEVELOPMENT ON THE PART ON THE NYSC OGUN STATE.PLEASE AND PLEASE HELP US TO MAKE THIS PUBLIC BECAUSE THIS IS A CHEAT ON HUMANITY AND WE ARE PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF GOOD PEOPLE GREAT NATION.IT IS QUITE UNFAIR - Kayode 18/05/11

Common Yinka Odumakin.Aren't you the campaign man for the all-round defeated ret.Buhari, the saint? You've boasted that Nigeria will turn up-side down if election was stolen. Whao! Votes weren't stolen,a peaceful election indeed. Can you now see that we're right thinking Nigerians. With your Oga's over one million votes in Kano, where are you on the stratum of the ladder of winning?Go and bury your head in shame and guide your tongue. - Prince Wale Adewusi 17/04/11

I believe, that Yinka Odumakin campaign man for presidential candidate Buhari should be in jail by now for vomiting the rubbish, that if the coming election is stolen from the people in a sokoto campaign rally that ,this will be another Tunisia,Egypt and Yemeni combined. When elected officials use words like this,I wonder when our country will get to a point wherein we call them out and possibly prosecute them. - AKUGUE-IDEHEN KINGSLEY 17/04/11

President Goodluck Jonathan, You can fool some people some days, but you can't fool all the people all the time. MR. PREDIDENT, let Akwa Ibomites decide their governor. Don't impose Gov. Godswill Akpabio on us. President Goodluck Jonathan's popularity is going down by the day. He is being dragged down by Obasanjo. Now Godswil Akpabio has finally finished him using Udoedehe issue. I knew from time that Goodluck does not have the capacity to rule this country. He only does what his adviser Obasanjo is telling him. No, President Goodluck Jonathan and PDP has to go. Enough of this injustice in a political dispensation. What has PDP got to offer. Their administration has been from time characterized with corruption, assassination, injustice and government arranged tribal and religious fights. How can a political president watch police enter inside the court room to arrest and also slap a former senator of the federal republic of Nigeria. It is generally known that people seek refuge in courts and churches protection. SSS are arresting ACN supporters all over the country. The other day Barr. Francis Effanga was arrested by SSS that he spoke against Mr. President. That's to say with Goodluck Jonathan Obasanjo, no freedom of speech. Requested for the arrest of all ACN officials in Akwa Ibom State. What an injustice because they have seen a useless governor that is ready to throw our State location on them. Who ever that's planning to vote's Goodluck Jonathan or any PDP candidates in this coming election needs a psychiatric evaluation. For Godswill Akpabio, his days are numbered. If I were him, he should be think of were to run to. We are not fools, we are part of the same society they are trying to fool us with. Simple political Arithmetic for Goodluck Jonathan. The northerns are planning for a block vote for Buhari. ACN will surely take over the south. Were will your vote and PDP come from. The initial plan in Akwa Ibom State as rightly requested by Obong Victor Attah was to vote out that murderer called Godswill Akpabio while Goodluck gets the votes for presidential elections. But singular act of using your power to intimidate opposition parties. Its over. The vote is now Sen. John Udoedehe for Governor, Buhari for president. If God is God, none of you will go un punished. The punishment shall go down your family. Remember the case of Sani Abacha. We had our knees to the ground and called God. He answered our prayers. That same God is here with us and he will raise and act. RED card to PDP. Say No to Goodluck Jonathan, No to corrupt PDP government!, No to police IG. Mr. President Sir, I read from dailies that most of our sons in diaspora are desperate to vote in the April elections in Nigeria. May I suggest that a Bill be sponsored to allow our sons and daughters to have a voting right during elections. This might sound funny to many but is a fact that should be taken seriously. - BARR. Why would Gov.Fayemi of Ekiti State allow some selfish leader in the party to dictate the pace at which the primaries for the National Assembly be conducted in Ekiti Central.Again for the second time, delegates could not vote in Irepodun/Ifelodun LGA, when the returning officer made away with the voting materials.Pls Mr Gov can you exercise you power bearing in mind how you fought for your victory and HOW MUCH you believe and uphold democratic principles. Our leader should search their conscience and allow the vote of the people to count.Remember, that ACN launched the campaign for ONE MAN ONE VOTE. LONG LIVE ACN,LONG LIVE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA. - Mary 13/01/11

Nigerians want only a leader who would make us to work; make us to use what we have to get what we want. Then and only then will Nigeria begin to develop to nationhood, and we shall begin to have a sense of pride. Therein lie the genuine popularity of, Late General Murtala and the duo Generals Buhari and great late Idiangbo. - Jonathan Duomoni 08/01/11
