Zain is like the original parent company of celtel i think and now Celtel Nigeria which has had quite a long series of name changes ever since entering into the Nigerian GSM market. From Econet to Vmobile to Celtel and now Zain. Although ZAIN says its not just the routine name changes that is going on but actually the company has established a very encouraging presence and success and Nigeria and needed to officially enter in its own original name. It would also signal better and newer services in Nigeria and it appears Zain's entry into the Nigerian industry signifies that a serious business company is about to make the market more competitive against strong brands like MTN. With MTN coming from the South and Zain coming from the NORTH, Nigeria appears as the battleground and one of the most successful investment destinations they have ever had.
