Is Babangida still relevant in Niger state politics let alone in Nigerian politics? Last we heard of him was when he said that he will be stepping aside to allow Yaradua run for president. Is his influence overinflated or is he really influential in Nigerian politics?

i think the media love him and someone who the media like to write about can equally be considered as being influential. I mean, logically, the guy was once our head of state and he deserves a place of honour in our society.

ibb is still a strongman in Niger state politics and Nigeria at large. I mean he'll forever be on the history books of Nigeria since he had once been the head of state

The military really has no power now as they used to, but former Nigerian rulers may still have enough influence, enough to suffice for political power.
