Bloggers are making a killing with Google Adsense and with blogs getting most of the traffic on internet searches, it has become the way to go for internet gurus who cae to maks serious money from the internet. Google adsense is the major way in which bloggers in the US are making money online but is it really working in Africa? Can African bloggers make sufficient money to call it a living? There seem to be a different pricing technique which Google uses in paying Adsense publishers who are in third world and poor countries especially in Africa. The pay per click values for African adsense publishers seem to be small and regionally based compared to keywords and ppc payments for publishers and bloggers who are based in the US. Moreover, it is not easy for an African to own and publish a continually updated website like a blog or forum and still be able to make reasonable profit from it using Google adsense which is supposed to be the biggest payer in the ad world. Morever, there are not many blogs owned and run in Africa which attract significant profit. By the time the website owner pays for a domain name, web hosting and web design for his site for a year, when compared to his earnings on Adsense, it is mostly meagre, it is like a rat race. It would take a reasonable amount of effort before African web bloggers can really make money like blog owners do in the United states where some of them make as much as $5000 per month.
