the best way to get updated news on your desktop is to subscribe to rss news feeds on Nigerian news sites. Most of the online Nigerian newspapers don't make use of rss feeds but i know of Thisdayonline.com. You can subscribe to their news and just check the feeds tab when you are connected to your internet. It would just display the latest news on top.
