Will the Stock market recover?

I would really like to know if one invests in the stock market now whether it would recover in less than 3 years from now. Our economy seems to be tied down to oil and i wonder if oil would be selling in the future otherwise it may be a waste to invest in stocks.

I heard that it would recover next year, but in Nigeria, we would consider those sayings as rumours
