the case of amos adamu is a clear demonstration of what the world has termed nigerians to be. i am not surprise because he demonstrated the rottenness in the nigerian public sector. check our senetors salaries, allowances and other benefits, its outrageous. how can a senetor in Nigeria get so much from the federation account while million of Nigerians connot have a three square meal in a day? God will help us

The Nigerian Government and indeed all Nigerians having been crying out and trying to find ways of reducing and possibly stamping out all forms of vices in our society especially as regards armed robbery and kidnapping. However it is unfortunate that the south eastern Governors do not think along this line when they look the other way and have refused to see senses in dialoging with ASUU and doing their best to ensure that the students of five south eastern state universities go back to school. They have given myriads of reasons why they cannot accede to the demands of ASUU,but are these reasons trainable? Can they in all good conscience say that they cannot pay the teachers and yes the workers a reasonable sum?.Sometimes I wonder if these men have conscience at all.Well do we blame them, they have their kits and kins safely and secured in the best of universities in Europe ad America. How can they complain of lack of funds when the money generated from such towns as Onitsha and Nnewi alone are so much? Are these governors telling us the truth? How about a state like Anambra State where local government election has never been conducted and all the funds goes directly to the Governor of the state? How are these funds being managed?.Governors like Mr Peter Obi cannot say that he cannot pay the new agreed minimum wage.It is even embarrassing that such maters are being discussed talk less of being and issue that has degenerated this far. These Governors I think are just making light of the fact that we are in a democracy and they owe it to the people to be responsible about their actions. What they have done so far is nothing but a form of deride and cajole on the intelligence of all the south eastern people. They should be called to order for their actions. These are the same men that will stand tomorrow and canvass for the peoples vote or what more, they actually know that they don't have to rely on my or your vote. These Governors should be ashamed that they have allowed these strike to linger up till now. Please In Gods name since any other resort will be misconstrued,OPEN OUR UNIVERSITIES NOW

Why are the south eastern Governors playing politics over the issue of ASUU strike in their state universities and resumption of duty for all the university workers. Its really disheartening and goes a long way to show how insensitive these Governors are to the plight of the young teeming undergraduates of these institutions.I wonder if these men ever think about the consequences and repercussion of having our budding young staying at home without their minds being engaged in their studies. They don't care less because non of their children are in any of the schools.Their security vote alone can cover a lot of expenses but do they care. All that matters to them is the is the forth coming election and how to sustain themselves in power. Its really a shame and may God deliver these Governors from such gross selfishness.I wonder how posterity will judge them.

Sir/Madam, The whole of Lagos State and beyond know the Area in Mushin Local government/Odi-olowo-Ojuwoye LCDA called Akala and what this area is notorious for. The Nigerian Police is also not unaware of what Akala stands for. It has now become normal and usual daily occurrence for criminals, miscreants, hoodlums, and drugs sellers such as Indian hemp, narcotics; and for drug addicts and armed robbers; the now dominant groups of Akala, to operate freely and even go as far as harassing and humiliating the peace-loving people in the neighborhood. All with the support of police from State SARS. The people of idi-oro area of Mushin LG, for the past FOUR weeks, have been and are still being hounded by these Akala miscreants with the support of some groups of police men from the State SARS, led by their biased superior officer, CSP Segun Fabunmi. The police, who claims to be the friend of the people with their popular slogan Police is your friend, are siding with the group they should be restricting. Now, the appearance of police in our community in recent days leaves the inhabitants fretful and afraid; in total contrast to their friendly claim. According to reports, it all started with a fight between Toba Ajiboye of Idi-oro and Alhaji Taoreed Farounbi (Alado) of Mushin; Toba in his 30s was a tenant and now a Land lord in idi-oro, he is a member and the leader of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) in the area; he became popular in the area for his war against armed robbers. As a matter of fact, he has been able to eradicate armed robbery and thuggery in Idi-oro neighborhoods with his combatants, he later joined the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), while Alh. Farounbi (Alado) in his late 70s is a land and estate agent and also stand as god-father for members of the NURTW in Mushin. To those who know him well, will testify that Baba Alado is known for his unscrupulous methods of leadership: it has become a case of either you submit yourself and agree with him on any matter as they arise, wrong or right, or else you will have to run away for safety and be banished from the community. To get his own ways however, he seems to have recruited the police in addition to his agents. Anything could be cooked up and fabricated; just to enable the police lay its hands on a perceived enemy of Alado and his cohorts. You may be arrested from your house or wherever at a very odd time or anytime for either wandering or nothing without warrant of arrest and later charged for murder or attempted murder with no evidence. Among other major police offices in Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja; Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is an arm of this command. SARS as it is popularly called has some of its senior officers on Baba Alados pay roll especially their superior officer,CSP Segun Fabunmi, the O.C., SARS. Any perceived misdemeanor to Alados person or business undertakings is taken as a serious criminal offences there (State SARS) and the accused person could be sure of police maltreatment, because the police boss must do whatever Alado asks him to do for he seems to have paid for it. Alhaji T. Farounbi (Alado) is said to have taken it upon himself to give valuable gifts such as landed property, huge amount of money and others to key police officers at various major police offices as they are posted, this gesture is obviously not for anything but to cajole and use them for his unlawful acts, he even boasts of his acts to have lasted as long as 50 years. One of Alados strategies to get rid of, or silence his perceived enemy is to conspire with his sponsored police men to connive with some hoodlums to wage war against the enemy and that is what he feels befits Toba who is in Idi-oro. It is reported that Toba has some issues and misunderstandings with the influential Alado who claims to have the key to police operations, and he (Alado) came out against Toba with his fight to finish approach and one of his ideas is a Hoodlums-Police Joint Task Force. It is imperative here to know that this petition is not however to support Toba or vice-versa, but the battle between them is seriously and unbearably affecting our neighborhoods, as it is the grass that suffer the battle of fighting Elephants; and that is our case. The irony of this fracas is that, it is the hoodlums, criminal, drugs (india hemp, narcotics) sellers and even armed robbers that are working for the police, mixing with them, and using different kinds of arms like cutlass, bottles, sticks etc in the broad day light to arrest people and they (the criminals) come in the night with guns and shoot at vehicles, they are so destructive in their actions. They claim to be looking for OPC and their leader, Toba with the chants of no more OPC; no more Toba; no more eiye; whereas the fellows they wanted have fled the community for safety of their lives, but they keep terrorizing our neighborhood. To this end, we appeal to your good offices: we can no longer endure this act of oppression, threat to our lives and properties, inhumanity and injustice of the highest order from these set of people. Please save our soul. We have little children growing up in the area and to them it is as if our community is perpetually under siege when we are suppose to live and develop in peace. New set of criminals are being bred in Akala and the time to nip this in the bud is now!!!

I don't know why people are complaining about Jonathan's intention to run in the 2011 election.I believe if those were in his shows, they would do the same, afterall everyone loves power. In fact,I support him to,though I may not participate in the voting exercise. If he wins, fine since he's loved by many Nigerian for his good works,in consenting to the Electoral laws' ammendement, removal of Iwu,just to mention a few.Good luck,I wish you Good luck.

Very bad and tragedy experience from an advertisement by your company or from your company office in Port Harcourt scares people away from your newspaper now. You are advertising a 419 OTC Conference company (MOONHOUSE PUBLISHING COY) OIL AND GAS which situated at 36 Aba Expressway Rumuomasi Port Harcourt. Please do something because the name of your esteemed comapny is extending with the rumours that you promoted a fraud advertisement by Moonhouse. Take care.
